Kai-Zen Lesson #2: "In order to get something, you have to act as though you already have it"

"In order to get something, you have to act as though you already have it"

Malcolm X

One of the great lessons of all times is the fact that "Those who achieve their goals in life only realize their goals in reality after they have them realized in their minds first".

No person can achieve something that they cannot believe it can be achieved and they cannot see themselves achieving it at least at the level of their mind & imagination.

In the science of success we learn that, there are 3 main reasons why humans don't achieve their goals:
1. They don't KNOW what they want.
2. They know what they want, but don't know HOW to achieve it.
3. They know what they want, and they know how to achieve it, but they don't BELIEVE they can achieve it.

Now, the last one is mostly the case if you think about it and I personally believe is the hardest of the three.

I talked and coached few people before in different fields either business, management, social skills, & career development and I found that most people will KNOW what they want, & they will know HOW to achieve it, BUT ..... they will not BELIEVE within them selves with affirmation & confidence that they will achieve what they want.

Just imaging a scenario of your past of something you achieved and realized, imagine with me yourself before setting to achieve it. Now, imagine yourself planning to go for it and knowing what you want and knowing how to get it, but wait, imagine your internal mindset being against you and a voice inside you telling you,'Come on dude! You know you will never achieve this thing no matter what you do'. Hmmm now, how does that feel? Do you feel motivated?! I don't think so, right!

Catch you soon, and apologize for keeping you all waiting for my 2nd Kai-Zen its been in draft for over 2 months now!!

Kai-Zen Lesson #1: The Color of Water is the Color of its vessel

I am starting this series of lessons of wisdom and spiritual guide lines that are aimed at making positive change and in our lives and those around us. I will call them Kai-Zen from the Japanese for Good (Zen) Change (Kai). These lessons of wisdom learned from various resources such as great spiritual masters, influential successful individuals, various readings, training courses, and even from experience - success and failure alike - will hopefully be lanterns on the path of being better human beings. I also wish that they will help us to fulfill the 4 necessities of life "To Live, to Learn, to Love, & to Leave  Legacy".

And now to our first lesson:

"The Color of Water is the Color of its Vessel"

"لون الماء لون اناءه"

Few of you must have wondered what that phrase meant when I posted it in the about me part. Take a minute to reflect and question yourself what it means, then read on.

Meaning: Truth is like the water so transparent and clear. Humans are like vessel; cups, pots, containers, bottles, etc. One's own understanding of truth and representation of it may slightly show in different colors and shape according to the persons experience, knowledge, prospective, and state of being. However, the truth remains unchanged but we humans are limited and we have to appreciate that.

In Nero Linguistic Programing (NLP), one of the most basic tenants of human change and development is to understand that:
"The Map is not the Territory"

I.e. our own maps and understanding of reality is not necessary equal to reality, however, more like a road map that gives a smaller representation of some aspects of reality to guide us through. Keep in mind that each person has a different published print of their own map and some difference in representation and symbols and signs may be different. Hence, we have to acknowledge the fact that other people will have a different view towards life, truth, and reality.

Exercise: Imagine a "fancy 2000$ pen".

What's the color of that pen?......

Each one of you will have a different color in mind. I for instance would say transparent crystal clear, or even a black, but what matters is I have to accept that each one of you will have their own "field of reference", which is the collective pool of knowledge, experience and stored memories.

Application: In life we will work with people who have their own maps. Let's be flexible enough to acknowledge the difference and accept it, then try to understand the other before wanting to be understood. Great Listeners are great Learners, admired Leaders, passionate Lovers and Live a happy life.

Self reflect............

The Mighty Beast Slayer

Guess who had entered "History" from its most glorious doors?!

Yes you guessed it right. Shaykh G seems to have been the newest "Super Hero" in town.
You ask how and why?

Well there is a nice story to it - seems like I am more of a story teller, hope u enjoy it - which is dated to the ancient times of the 21st century on November of 2011, yesterday the 26th to be more specific.

Well, the thing is the New Slider Station Branch which most of us have been waiting for the grand opening for quiet a while have finall opened at Oasis by the Sea in Al Shati at Muscat- yeeeeaaaah wooohooo (Jumping all over the place like a little girl) - & i was lucky enough to be around for the 2nd day of opening.

Most of you are wonder now where does the beast come into all this, well guess what? They have an awesome challenge called the Might Beast challenge and goes like this:
You order The Might Beast Burger Which is filled with 8 oz of beef among other proteins such as fried eggs and halal bacon, & if you were "Man enough" - or "Woman Enough"-  to finish devouring the whole beast before it devours you then you get to be listed on their wall of Mighty Beast Slayers forever.

Upon hearing the cheers of the lovely bunch of staff for being the first brave warrior to attempt slaying the beast. I gladly took the challenge and cheated on my vegetarian diet i was on for a week and man was it an experience!!

Below is the picture of the beast I had to go against and to give you and idea of the size, think of the size of a small pizza from pizza hut and stack it up with beef, eggs and bacon and salad then cover it with another small pizza.

I must say it was a chance to test how much will power i had and how can i use the power of my mind for my advantage. and trust me it wasn't an easy task.

At start the nice taste of my medium to well beef patty was an encouragement and the combination beef, eggs, bacon, pickles, salad, & dressing was sweet and in the right ratio.

However, its when you get to the mid of the battle that spirits are really tested.

Its when i reached to this stage that I realised the marathon is not as short as it seems and here is when things started to change. Devouring beef stopped being an enjoyment to me and rather turned into a torture. However, being the hero that I am, i refused to give up and kept on going on despite the pain.

Basically, a combination of sipping some water and a fizzy drink and taking few breather breaks and going for a short walk kind helped.

Until i ended up here.
This was the part where the bread was the hardest thing to ever eat and made me really consider not eating bread for the rest of my life. Never the less, that didn't stop me from being a mighty beast slayer with a headache from all the food and reaching a stage where I considered being a vegetarian for the rest of my life.

Unfortunately, I was under the influence of "Breads & Al-Lohom (i.e meats)" that I couldnt function properly at that stage.

However now being the first to Slay the best my name is currently recorded on the Slider Styles Mighty Beast Challenge Wall and I will let you guys figure out which is my name since they didn't recorded in actual order, which I have to go complain about.

Over all it was an awesome and pleasant experience and I wouldn't mind repeating it one day but I will need some time to recover, could be weeks, months, or maybe few hours ;)

I must say that Slider Station is an awesome place to go for dinner and currently they open form 7pm till 11pm & I give them 8.5 for ambiance 9 for Service, and 8 for the food.

Thank you and hope you enjoyed the adventure.

More to come soon ;)

Welcome....the world according to G

Salam, Welcome to my humble online abode.

I have hesitated for almost a whole year -if not more- to start writing but i guess its about time for me to actually write something here.

First, I must say m glad to have had a member who believed in me even before i started writing and I must say that I will try to honor that trust and faith from "Mimi".

Now lets get down to a very essential question.....what's with the name? why "Shaykh G"?

Some of you might be asking them selves and having their own theories but you won't believe the story behind it lol

It is actually a funny story to tell that originated in the far away island of New Zealand.

..

..

But hey thats no fun telling you everything no better keep you in suspense for now and keep you guessing and i would love to hear what you guys think was the reason behind the name ;) so keep the posts rolling.

As for what I would discuss here, I will probably be throwing random thoughts on various matters of interest and controversy from religion, business, psychology, human development, spirituality, or even.....what bugs me in the world.

Hope you enjoy the trip and the humble hospitality of Shaykh G.
